Job title: Events Florist & Designer


A rare opportunity to work in a varied and exciting role assisting the founder of London’s leading florist and event business.


Nikki Tibbles Wild at Heart, founded in 1993, is famous for its opulent and unique style. Our client contracts, events and weddings are truly breath-taking and we bring a vast wealth of experience to make every aspect of site design, landscaping, event creation and floral artistry, original and stunning.


Reporting to: Nikki Tibbles, Founder Wild at Heart


Hours: Full Time, 45 hours and due to the nature of the Events Industry, weekend and evening work is to be expected.


Although our standard office hours are 9am – 6pm, it is expected of the Events Florist to attend events by them, which will include weekend and evening work. It is also considered beneficial to make weekly early visits to the Flower Market in New Covent Garden/Nine Elms, to see what flowers are coming into season, develop a strong seasonal flower knowledge, and to build a strong relationship with our suppliers.


Location: Based in our studio in Battersea, London, and occasionally from our store on Weighhouse Street.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Will be expected to take phone enquiries, respond to e-mail enquiries, and ensure clients receive the necessary proposal and budgets.
  • Arrange and attend venue/in-house meetings and samples with potential client’s and suppliers
  • Liaise with Nikki Tibbles and the Events Team, regarding flowers, design and style of weddings and events
  • Create initial flower and design concepts and mood boards to create client proposals
  • Create budget’s using Microsoft Excel
  • Operational administration
  • Event logistics
  • Flower buying
  • Collection of flowers and sundries from the market
  • Managing a team of freelance florists per event
  • Assist on-site as client liaison and act as support for the Creative Director, Nikki and all crew
  • Pre-event preparation
  • Designing bespoke arrangements for clients

Requirements


  • Grow and maintain relationships with suppliers at the flower market
  • Must have a UK Drivers Licence (Manual) – must be able to drive vans
  • Strong seasonal flower knowledge and care
  • Confident communicator
  • Plenty of stamina
  • Ability to work independently and manage a team
  • Efficient, able to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Creative background and a good eye for design
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of event flower ordering on both small- and large-scale jobs
  • Strong experience of small-scale work and larger floral mechanics for weddings and events installations with more bespoke designs.
  • Good understanding of floral design – ability to offer creative floral ideas for proposals/client briefs to support events team

Experience


A minimum of five year’s experience within the events floristry industry is essential.


A full, UK, manual, drivers license is essential. Within the company, all members of the events team are required to drive company vehicles such as vans and/or cars to get to and from events and meetings.


Holiday


The company holiday allowance is 32 days inclusive of bank holidays. Within the events department, holiday within our peak times is often not allowed, due to our high volume of work, however this is assessed on a case by case bases. Peak times include ‘Wedding season’ (May – July) and also the run up to Christmas (mid November to mid December), as well as flower focused holidays, such as Valentines day and Mother’s Day.
