General Operative

Job Title: General Operative (Assembler) - Temp to Perm
Location: Matlock, Derbyshire
Pay Rate:£11.44 per hour
Hours: Full-Time, Day Shift (Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm)
Overtime: Available at 1.5x hourly pay rate

Our client, a leading manufacturer in foam and fibre conversion products based in north Derbyshire, is looking for an enthusiastic General Operative (Assembler) to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis!

As a General Operative (Assembler), you will play a crucial role in the production team, ensuring the assembly of high-quality foam products. Your responsibilities will include:

• Reading and interpreting assembly specifications in both 2D and 3D formats.
• Operating a glue gun to apply non-toxic, water-based glue to foam products.
• Using tape measures and other tools to ensure the final product meets quality standards.
• Following standardised work and job flow diagrams with high accuracy.
• Meeting daily production assembly targets.
• Accessing product specifications via a computer database.
• Conducting quality checks and reporting any issues to the supervisor.
• Collaborating effectively with your team to achieve production goals.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to perform well under pressure.
• Basic maths skills are essential.
• 5S training (desirable but not essential).
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work independently without supervision.

• Day shift with flexible hours
• Paid breaks: 2 x 15-minute breaks (paid) and 1 x 30-minute lunch break (unpaid)
