Job Description

Cecil Macdonald is a leading distribution company specialising in the supply of product to the duty free and travel retail industry. We are committed to being the UK’s leading distribution partner for a wide array of emerging and well known consumable brands, covering sweet and savory food and alcoholic, soft and hot beverages for both immediate consumption and retail. We support manufacturers by offering route to market solutions for a sector that has a typically challenging supply chain. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sales Support Assistant to join our sales team.


**Job Summary:**

The Sales Support Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the sales team by managing administrative tasks, helping to co-ordinate sales activities, and ensuring smooth communication between the sales team and other areas of the business, both internally and externally. This role requires strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.


This is a full time office based position with working hours from 08:30-16:30.


**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Sales Team Support: Assisting the sales team with day-to-day administrative tasks including responding to pricing queries, preparing sales reports and completing customer and supplier new product forms. Assisting as required in the preparation of sales proposals and presentations along with supporting sales team with organizing product samples and supporting with customer training events outside of the office environment.

  • Customer Interaction: Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email providing product information, answering questions, and supporting to resolving issues along with the supply chain team.

  • Data Management: Maintain and update customer and supplier records, including customer and supplier price lists, and company and product information, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.

  • Report Generation: Prepare and distribute sales reports, with a view to being able to also provide analysis to assist the sales team in identifying trends and opportunities as the candidates understanding develops.

  • Coordination: Liaise with other departments such as Supply chain and finance to ensure any sales prevention challenges are resolved and overcome as quickly and smoothly as possible whilst maintaining customer satisfaction.

**Qualifications:**

  • Education: University graduate preferred

  • Experience: Some Experience in a sales support, administrative, or customer service role is desirable

  • Skills:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

- Experience with sales and inventory systems is a plus

- Strong organizational and multitasking skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
