SUMMARY

The Business Analyst will work closely with stakeholders, developers, and project managers to ensure that business requirements are accurately captured, analysed, and translated into effective IT solutions.


Tasks Include:

Requirements Gathering

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business requirements for IT and business projects.
  • Conduct workshops, interviews, and surveys to understand the needs and challenges of different departments and stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into clear and detailed functional requirement documentation.

Process Analysis

  • Analyse current business processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
  • Work with the IT team to design and propose optimised processes that leverage new or existing technology solutions.
  • Ensure that proposed changes align with business goals and deliver value to all stakeholders.

Solution Design

  • Collaborate with IT developers and solution design engineers to design IT solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Create detailed specifications, including data models, process flows, and use cases.
  • Assist in the development of prototypes and proof of concepts to validate requirements.

Project Management Support

  • Work alongside project managers to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or issues.
  • Assist in the creation of project plans, timelines, and resource allocation.

Testing, Training and Documentation

  • Develop and execute test plans to validate that IT solutions meet business requirements.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and work with end users to ensure successful implementation.
  • Develop training materials and user guides to assist end-users in adopting new systems or processes.
  • Provide training sessions and ongoing support to ensure successful user adoption.
  • Act as a liaison between the IT department and end-users, addressing any concerns or feedback.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of business requirements, process changes, and system implementations.
  • Ensure that all documentation is kept up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.

Support

  • Work on the helpdesk function for application support, ensuring that end users are appropriately supported, and tickets are raised as needed.
  • Actively engage with users via tickets and other communication methods to resolve any issues within remit.
  • Monitor and ensure application tickets are responded to in compliance with our SLAs.

Security, Compliance and Environmental

  • Maintain compliance with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards, such as GDPR, Cyber Essentials, and any other implemented standards.
  • Follow work instructions provided, complying with our ISO accredited standards ISO 9001, 14001, 45001.
  • Communicate any non-conformances within the ISO accredited management system.
  • Raise any upcoming changes which could affect the ISO accredited management system.
  • Follow environmental policies and procedures and highlight any risks to personnel or the environment.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative bodies and local authorities.

Health and Safety

Without compromise maintain a safe and clean work environment.

  • Report any hazards in the workplace to management immediately.
  • Complete all training provided in a timely manner.
  • Follow all laws and policies applicable.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within an IT department.
  • Knowledge of enterprise applications, such as WMS, TMS, OMS, and CRM systems.
  • Experience implementing new contracts into operational environments.
  • Experience with project management methodologies.
  • A strong ability to communicate in written and verbal forms simply.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify concepts to ease interaction between technical and non-technical employees.
  • The ability to manage projects with an attention to detail.
  • Excellent understanding of, and ability to use, Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • 5 x GCSEs, grade A to C (or equivalent), or
  • Equivalent applied experience.
  • Full UK Driving License
