Finance Business Partner

London, hybrid / remote working + occasional travel (UK)

£80,000-£90,000 + bonus


We are working with a prominent mid-market fund to source a dynamic Finance Business Partner for their technology port co. This role will focus on analysing key financial metrics, supporting strategic initiatives, and collaborating with other departments to enhance operational efficiency and profitability. The successful candidate will deliver data-driven recommendations around margin improvement, customer retention, and cost management while ensuring alignment with overall business goals.


The Role:

  • Conduct a thorough analysis of profit margins across various products and services to identify key trends and areas needing improvement.
  • Offer strategic advice to increase operational efficiency, lower expenses, and enhance overall profitability.
  • Analyse customer retention patterns to pinpoint causes of customer churn.
  • Present insights to senior management, providing actionable recommendations to improve customer retention rates.
  • Lead planning exercises focused on exploring different business strategies, including new service offerings or expansion into new markets.
  • Model potential financial outcomes of these strategies and offer insights on their implications for business planning.
  • Design and implement scalable cost models to align with evolving service levels and business growth phases.
  • Continuously monitor and refine cost structures to maintain a balance between service quality and financial performance.
  • Work with commercial teams to conduct in-depth pricing analysis, ensuring that pricing strategies align with financial objectives and market positioning.
  • Provide analysis on the profitability of various customer segments and pricing approaches.
  • Partner closely with the finance operations team to streamline processes related to financial reporting and customer service delivery.
  • Optimize workflows between finance and other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Regularly prepare and present reports on financial performance and key strategic initiatives.
  • Track the progress of projects to ensure they meet financial goals and mitigate potential risks.


About you:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA qualification is a plus but not required).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial analysis, business partnering, or a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced or growth-oriented company. Private equity experience is a bonus.
  • Strong background in profit margin analysis, customer retention studies, and scenario planning.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and Excel, with the ability to develop detailed, data-driven reports and forecasts.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders and working effectively across departments.
