Job Title: International Sales Manager - UK&EU

Company: Leading Global Outdoor and Lifestyle Clothing and Accessories Brand


Location: Central London (2/3 days per week) need to be flexible with occasional UK & EU Travel required

Type: Full Time, Permanent

Start Date: ASAP subject to notice period

Basic Salary: £65,000 - £70,000+ depending on experience, with 10% bonus and comprehensive benefits package.

Now, we are looking for a dynamic International Sales Manager to drive growth with key retailers and partners in the sports, outdoor, and department store sectors across the UK and EU.


Role Overview

As the International Sales Manager, you will report directly to the Divisional VP of Sales and play a pivotal role in expanding our market reach. While you will collaborate with colleagues across various divisions for warm introductions to relevant retail buyers, this role is heavily focused on business development and new retailer acquisition. You will target key players in sports, outdoor, and lifestyle retail, while also managing and nurturing relationships with leading retailers such as JD Sports, Sports Direct, Decathlon, Cotswold Outdoor, and department stores like John Lewis, House of Fraser, Selfridges, and prominent European retailers like Intersport, Galeries Lafayette, De Bijenkorf, El Corte Inglés, Zalando and many more.


Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Development: Identify and acquire new retail partners in the sports and outdoor sectors across Europe and globally. Expand the brand's footprint in department stores and online platforms.
  • Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing key accounts, including JD Sports, Sports Direct, Cotswold Outdoor, Decathlon, John Lewis, Selfridges, and others.
  • Market Penetration: Develop and execute strategies to enter new markets, with a focus on growing the brand's presence in Europe and beyond.
  • Sales Strategy: Collaborate with the Sales Director to devise and implement sales strategies that align with company goals. Drive revenue growth through effective planning and execution.
  • Negotiation & Deal Closing: Lead negotiations with senior buying teams and execute contracts that ensure profitable growth and strong brand representation.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor sales performance, set targets, and analyse data to identify opportunities for growth. Adjust strategies as needed to achieve sales objectives.
  • Retail Partnership Management: Work closely with retail partners to optimize product assortment, stock levels, and in-store promotions to drive sell-through.
  • Brand Representation: Ensure brand image and product positioning are consistent across all retail channels, aligning with the company’s vision and values.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Liaise with marketing, product, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless execution of sales plans.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven track record as an International Sales Manager, Sales Account Manager, or similar role in the outdoor, lifestyle, or sports retail sector.
  • Industry Knowledge: Must have experience winning, growing, and expanding European retailers/distribution partners, particularly in sports, outdoor, and lifestyle categories.
  • New Business Focus: Demonstrated success in acquiring new retail partners and driving business growth.
  • Sales Leadership: Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage complex sales processes with senior stakeholders.
  • Market Understanding: Deep understanding of European and global retail markets, particularly in sports and outdoor sectors.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with a proactive and results-driven approach.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively across teams and manage multiple priorities.
