What you will do
Johnson Controls is looking for an On-Site Fire Alarm Engineer for one of our clients in the Southwest of the UK. We need someone will have excellent communication and customer service skills along with strong fire alarm experience to work along side a team of on-site engineers. Our engineers can deal with new and unexpected situations with a proactive and professional approach and have the ability to work on and improve systems to high standards.
Being part of a team on a nuclear power station has unique challenges that will require a great attention to detail, a commitment to completing works required as per the customer’s unique and changing needs, and ability to take responsibility for, and drive the works of the team present on site year-round.
How you will do it
Work as part of the on site team to complete fire detection and gaseous suppression servicing on electrical systems.
Undertake client and third party training to work on a nuclear site.
Occasionally work along side colleagues to assist with mechanical and passive fire system works.
Communicate with client on a daily basis to receive work instructions and receive permits to work.
Provide on-call cover to the single site of work, on a week on week off basis.
Complete fire detection maintenance testing, commissioning, witness testing and client training on site where required.
Reporting of any near misses/H&S issues with immediate effect to FLM and client.
Completion of site documentation to ensure both accuracy and expediency.
Work to high standards of health and safety, ensuring compliance with all legislation.

What we look for
Experience on Nuclear power stations and their regulations.
Excellent communication and customer service skills. People management skills with the ability to develop and supervise a team, preferably within a field role.
Ability to deal with new and unexpected situations with a proactive and professional approach. Ability to build strong relationships and inspire and influence others.
Electrical experience ideally within the Fire Detection industry
MUST hold a Full driving license.
Relevant gas suppression experience (CO2, Inergen & Novec), and passive fire protection equipment is desirable.
Must be willing to travel for training when required
