Job Description

Our client, a market leading software business requires a Legal Counsel to join their team. This international technology business is a pioneer in the field of AI and software solutions. Due to the continued and exponential growth, the business needs to hire an experienced Legal Counsel to take responsibility for contractual matters within the company.


The business is headquartered in London with international offices across the Middle East and Asia. Rapid growth is anticipated in the UK, Middle East and Australia over the next few years.

This growth has led to the requirement for a dedicated part time (2 days per week) Legal Counsel with experience in Intellectual Property contracts gained within the Technology sector.


The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor/ Barrister with experience primarily in the technology sector and have experience of writing, establishing and reviewing IT Contracts involving client software & technology. The contracts will be of varying durations, with some being project orientated ie installation of hardware/software for new sites. Other contracts could be Software as a Service (SaaS) and rolling in nature. You will be an experienced, motivated individual who has the ability to deliver and manage personal workload.


As Legal Counsel, you will report to the UK executive team and you will be responsible for the following:


• Drafting, establishing, negotiating and reviewing a wide variety of IT contracts.

Corporate and regulatory/compliance experience would be an advantage. The role will encompass GDPR, Regulation updates and the AI act which is imminent in the UK.

• The review, drafting and negotiation of a wide variety of commercial contracts working closely with commercial and sales leads.

• Advising the business on tender processes and participating in contractual negotiations with a range of customers, suppliers and partners in different sectors.

• Advising in board level contract reviews and undertaking corporate consultations and escalations within the company.

• Managing contractual disputes.


Candidate Requirements:


• Qualified solicitor or barrister gained in a commercial law firm and/or in-house legal department.

• Must be experienced in the negotiation and drafting of large commercial contracts, ideally in the IT marketplace.
