About you:


We are looking for a Junior Buyer to join our growing buying function in our dresses department. You'll be responsible for managing your own category, reporting into the Senior Buying Lead for the department.


You will have an eye for feminine, responsible product. Be confident and organised in your buying approach. You'll be passionate about our product ranges, and be eager to learn and develop and grow within the role, and be fully comfortable in a growing, fast paced environment.


Day to day, your responsibilities will include:


  • Support the Senior Buyer managing the dresses category.
  • Deliver a seasonally framework with sales, buys and options mixes with Merchandising and Design partners to deliver a relevant product range that delivers on topline sales with the NC customer at the forefront.
  • Drive the development of our responsible product working closely with Design, Garment Technology and suppliers while ensuring intake margin is delivered.
  • Reactive and quick to respond to current trends and trade and constantly evaluating upcoming ranges and looking for opportunities.
  • Build in ability to trade with your supply base and establish trigger dates for trade.
  • Chase and mitigate risk where required.
  • Work with the fabric team to book and monitor fabric/yarn commitment to trade effectively through the season.
  • Work closely with the Designers, Techs and Product Merchandisers from the start of the development stage to ensure the designs align with the Product Framework and meet quality and margin targets
  • Managing and updating the critical path for the department and feeding back to the Senior Buyer in weekly critical path meetings.
  • Assist Senior Buyer with all initial development & cost price enquiries and support negotiations of cost prices to ensure margins are achieved with best product delivery
  • Assist with all fabric and garment approvals
  • Prepare and attend fit sessions with the BA, updating the fit list on a weekly basis and updating the Senior Buyer with seal deadlines and priority working closely with the Garment technical team ensuring product fit is of a high commercial standard
  • Managing & maintaining good supplier relationships
  • Sample management by supporting organisation of samples for Wholesale/ E-com / Campaign / Content shoots
  • Understanding of reports and confident in suggesting trade actions identifying opportunity & risk
  • Monitor competitor analysis and completing regular comp shops
  • Assist in training of the BAA roles & managing their weekly workload and daily tasks.


Ideally, you'll have:

  • Around 6 years of buying experience in a similar fast paced retailer
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Accuracy and attention to detail related to product, process, and systems
  • Excellent numerical, written & verbal communication skills
