About you

As Operations Manager in the EdTech division, you will be working closely with the entire operations team to deliver the events to the highest quality of event delivery across exhibition, conference and meetings components. You will be contributing to the show budgets and operational plans for each event. Attendance onsite for periods of time at events is required. You will implement high standards of health and safety across the events you work on. Health & Safety, signage, rigging, floorplan management, stand plan approvals, staffing, and all other supplier relationships are some examples of key day-to-day tasks.


Key responsibilities

• Successfully plan and manage operational and logistical elements for the portfolio of events to a market-leading standard, strictly following local and/or regional health, safety and security regulations.

• Lead on the management of a series of content features and activation areas across the event.

• Contribute to, and monitor operational event budgets on a day-to-day basis with your team, keeping costs firmly under control and helping to achieve for best cost and profit targets

• Support the Client Engagement team on operational and logistical requirements pertaining to sponsorship across the portfolio, including obtaining competitive quotes and managing suppliers for the excellent operational delivery of sponsorship agreements

• Provide operational advice and assistance to the sales, content, client engagement, and marketing teams.

• Manage floorplan layouts with the relevant sales personnel ensuring they are correct according to all venue and local authority regulations and are in line with the exhibition strategies.

• Help train and develop the Operations Co-Ordinator to achieve high performance.

• Ensure effective control and monitoring of health and safety standards across the portfolio, constantly pushing to ensure best practice standards being met or exceeded in regions we work in.

• Continually provide the best possible customer service for our customers and stakeholders.


Skills Required:

  • Established experience within Operations, working on large international Exhibitions and high-level Conferences.
  • Strong Tech Production Experience
  • An aptitude for commercial decision-making and problem-solving
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changeable environment
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm whilst managing numerous priorities. Excellent time management skills.
  • Authentic and empathetic
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and both UK & international locations.
