Job description – Warehouse Supervisor
We’re looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to assist the warehouse operation at our site in Nottingham.
You will ensure high levels of accuracy with all Inbound and outbound stock, guaranteeing both accuracy and quality, to deliver the best service to our customers. Effective management of all identified key responsibilities, department processes and company procedures. Whilst ensuring the team are working to safe work standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in owning, leading and managing all shift activity to achieve departmental KPIs.
- Ensure all orders are packed/wrapped efficiently and loaded accurately onto the correct vehicles.
- Ensure that effective communication channels are in place to promote the regular and effective communication to the team for all matters, including operational performance and health & safety.
- Assist in resource planning and management
- Ensuring the correct standards of work are maintained and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives which will benefit the department and its customers.
- Assist in the management of the day-to-day aspects of the Warehouse operations.
- Ensuring that all employee relations activity, such as absence management, performance management, disciplinary proceedings and the training and development of your team is carried out in line with Company policies and procedures, with the support of HR and Line Manager.
- Ensure that the team are fully trained in the department SOP’s, quality and safety processes and procedures
- Ensure the warehouse operation complies with all quality and health and safety procedures.
- Management and monitoring of all MHE activity, pre-use checks, defect reporting.
Skills and Experience
- Our ideal candidate will have proven experience of leading an operational team with significant experience within a warehouse
- Strong leadership with the desire for progression
- Excellent communication skills at all levels – Able to communicate effectively with your team and other departmental stakeholders.
- Previous management of MHE equipment and monitoring of safe driving standards within your team.
- Competent IT skills relating to using a WMS and Microsoft software packages such as - Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Be able to identify and drive continuous improvement in a proactive manner.
- Excellent organisational skills and prioritising workload.
- Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
- The ability to develop relationships internally within the operational function and externally with other key supporting functions.
- Strong people managements skills, with the ability to coach and help others improve
