Job Description

Procurement and Supply Chain Manager - West MidlandsDue to significant growth the position of Procurement and Supply Chain Manager has become available to join our successful Water Sector team.

Costain is working closely with Severn Trent Water on their Capital Delivery Framework, as part of its c£2 billion capital programme for AMP7. As part of the Design and Build Framework lot, Costain brings together its design, construction, and consultancy expertise to undertake renewal and refurbishment projects and will assist Severn Trent in its target to make continuous improvements to its safety performance, whilst ensuring continuity of supply and consequently lowering costs of its customers.

The Procurement and Supply Chain Management function is responsible for the interface with those third-party organisations who support our business whether that be for procurement of goods and services or the relationship management that underpins any such activities.

The role of the Procurement and Supply Chain Manager is to contribute to the development and deployment of the Framework strategy for Procurement and Supply Chain Management. Leading the Framework supply chain and procurement team, and working closely with the project leads, Framework Commercial Director and other members of the wider Supply Chain management team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Framework Procurement and Supply Chain strategy is deployed into the Framework.

Costain operates across the UK and the successful candidate will represent Severn Trent Water in a variety of forums developing best practice in Demand Planning, Category Management and Supplier Relationship Management.

The role will also interface with the central procurement team ensuring compliance with Costain governance

This is a hybrid role with regular travel to Client site offices as required

Role Requirements
• CIPS qualified (preferable to level 5 minimum)
• Previous experience working in a similar level role
• A strong leader with excellent communication skills and ability to interact at all levels
• Clear and visible enthusiasm for driving improvement in best practice
• Capable of engaging with a wide-ranging stakeholder group
• Extensive knowledge of procurement and supply chain management
• Experience of collaborative working and implementing innovation
• Experience of water industry working (preferred but not essential)
• Positive and proactive attitude
