Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process for a category of products (Makeup or Skincare). You will play a crucial role in ensuring we have developed the right supplier base and relationships with vendors to support our business ambitions and deliver innovative products while ensuring cost-effectiveness, maintaining quality and building the agile supply chain to react to market evolution & business growth ambitions. Working closely with the Senior Procurement Manager, Operations and NPD teams internally to anticipate product needs & with suppliers to bring those to life supported by the right partnerships.

The Role


Your daily to-dos might look like this:

Procurement Strategy & Category Management

  • Manage internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver Procurement & Suppliers Strategies for allocated categories/portfolio.
  • Working closely with cross functional teams, understanding business needs ; using industry knowledge, identifying the most appropriate suppliers to meet current & future business needs that will deliver on all aspects of the value chain : Costs, Supply Chain agility, Quality, Access to Innovation, Compliance. Develop & deliver a strategy for all suppliers - on-board, grow, maintain, exit.

Product cost

  • Deliver the purchasing cost targets defined. Responsible for the total product cost (Raw Materials, Packaging and Conversion Costs) of selected category and the other commercial parameters throughout the full product lifecycle (NPD & EPD)
  • Deliver the best total cost of ownership for our products, including Supply chain and Commercial parameters (Costs, MOQ, Lead-time, Quality, flow revisions, payment terms, Exclusivity, etc.).
  • Ensure best value to cost: challenging product specifications, identifying, promoting and managing the cross functional delivery of cost savings, while maintaining or increasing customer perceived value. Suggest design to cost & Value engineering opportunities

Negotiation & contracting

  • Identifying the right negotiation approach for each situation, use your negotiation skills to offer the best of the suppliers value to cost internally
  • Develop and implement contracts with Suppliers formalising the commercial parameters : from NDA, Manufacturing & Supply agreement, Terms & Conditions

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Deploy the Supplier Relationship Programme basics ensuring year on year performance improvement (Cost, Quality, Supply Chain, Innovation, Compliance) for each category of suppliers
  • Build relationships with strategic suppliers at the right level with the organization
  • Lead the identification, assessment & on-boarding of new suppliers

Evaluates and manages risks & compliance

  • At a global category level, proactively identify potential suppliers, market and project risks, mobilize suppliers and internal stakeholders to provide solutions to remove or mitigate identified risks.
  • Working with the compliance team, ensure compliance of in scope suppliers including: data management (e.g. cog, dashboards), contracts, financial, and ethical risk management.

Procurement Processes

  • ensure relevant internal control processes and good Procurement practices are in place & followed (RFQ, price change management, contract set up, …)
  • identify gaps in Procurement processes and good practice and develop missing processes

Requirements

These skills will help you go far in this role:

    • A degree level qualification minimum - engineering or business degree preferred
    • You have had a first successful experience/role as a buyer in direct categories in a manufacturing environment - ideally in Beauty or FMCG environment.
    • Alternatively, you have had experience in a Technical /Manufacturing / Engineering function within Beauty or FMCG Industry on the product side and you have a strong interest for commercial functions
    • Experience of supplier performance evaluation, supplier selection; supplier relationship management.
    • Experience of Procurement processes (RFI, RFQ,..), negotiation, and contract management
    • Numerical & analytical - able to have an overview of big data while spotting inconsistencies in the data set
    • Excellent interpersonal skills including; strong cultural awareness with the ability to develop and maintain strong effective relationships
    • Thrives in a fast paced environment
    • Good strategic mindset
    • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects & products at the same time
    • You are a quick learner and are eager to develop
