BJ50: Workshop Engineer
Location: Roxton, Bedfordshire
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 Per Annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 45 hours p/w

Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Workshop Engineer on behalf of one of our fantastic clients based in Bedfordshire.
Working within the customer services division, the service engineer will be responsible for performing servicing, fault diagnostic and rectification tasks on suction excavators.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Planned maintenance
Fault diagnostics (via remote monitoring and liaising with operators)
Strong electrical diagnostic skills
Ability to be able to work on own initiative
Fault rectification and record keeping
Remedial works
Service and repair of remote-control systems
Research and development tasks
Assisting work on a customer’s site (Occasional basis)
Maintain tools and equipment in a safe, clean and functional condition.
Ensure all areas of work are maintained in a safe and tidy condition by practicing good housekeeping.
Complete written and computer-based reports.
Comply with all aspects of the company policies and follow published procedures where applicable.
Maintain a culture of best practice within the division by attending training courses, both internal and external when and where required.
Skills and Qualifications:
At least 3 years’ demonstrable experience working within the service industry in mechanical and electrical disciplines ideally with hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
Strong electrical diagnostic skills.
Experienced working on PLC controlled systems.
Ability to be able to work on own initiative.
Experience in fault-finding and repair of electrical control circuits/PLC’s is a must.
A recognised formal apprenticeship in addition to City and Guilds or similar qualification.
To always work safely and in accordance with the company’s health and safety procedures.
Precautions should be taken as necessary when visiting sites, adopting the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
