The Role As the Senior Data Analyst, you will lead in data science and predictive analytics, playing a critical role in shaping evidence-based policies and strategic decisions. Your work will directly impact programs like WorkBC, helping unemployed and underemployed British Columbians overcome barriers and find sustainable employment. Qualifications: Education and Experience Requirements Degree in a related field and 2 years related experience; or a diploma in a related field, and 3 years related experience; or certification from a recognized institution, in a related field and 4 years related experience; or, 5 years related experience. Related Education fields may include Data Science, Computer Science, GIS, statistics, mathematics, or other relevant specialty education as designated by program requirements. Related experience must include: Experience at leveraging structured and unstructured data sources to conduct quantitative analysis. Experience determining appropriate use of various problem structuring methods and statistical methods for sampling, distribution assessment, bias and error. Preference may be given for experience in any of the following: Experience with Microsoft Excel and Power BI. Experience with Python and SQL. Experience with IBM Cognos software tools. Experience creating and delivering executive-level presentations for the purpose of decision making. Experience with machine learning, clustering and classification techniques to analyze diverse sources of data. About this Position: Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement. This is a temporary opportunity until 10/31/2025. This position may be extended or become permanent. An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies. This position can be based in any Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction office.
