Specialist Radiographer

We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly radiographer to join our small team of radiographers.

We currently have a full time post which will be based in Cowal Community Hospital and will provide cover for Victoria Hospital in Rothesay.

Both sites provide a plain film service to A&E, In patients, Out patients, GPs and Dentists.

In Cowal Community hospital we provide a 24/7 service therefore on call is included in this post.

Following a review of the service we can offer a better work/life balance and we are happy to discuss how this works.

While this post is Band 6 it would be suitable for a newly qualified radiographer as this is a training/development post and Annex21 T&C will be applied where the successful candidate will receive a percentage of Band 6 pay until they are fully trained and have completed all the necessary competencies.

You will be supported by a small team of radiographers from across Argyll and Bute and radiologists who are based in Lorn and Islands hospital.

Although this post is based in Dunoon and Rothesay some Argyll and Bute cross site working may be required in order to maintain the service.

Our ideal candidate would be someone who is forward thinking and committed to providing an excellent service to the population of Cowal and Bute.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
