Job Description

We are seeking a talented individual to join us at the Avebury World Heritage Site, bringing expertise in both Visitor Experience and Visitor Welcome. This dynamic role combines responsibility for creating engaging visitor experiences and ensuring exceptional service standards. You will play a vital role in making each visit to Avebury memorable and enjoyable, which includes managing Summer Solstice and seven other Observances throughout the year, while also driving financial success by managing budgets effectively and seizing income-generating opportunities.

What it's like to work here

As the Experience & Visitor Programming Manager, you will be based at Avebury and oversee the pivotal areas of Visitor Welcome and Visitor Experience. You will be part of the wider Wiltshire Landscape team, which looks after 12 stunning sites across Wiltshire.

Avebury is a complex and very special place. It’s a World Heritage Site covering more than 6,000 years of history. At its heart is Europe’s largest megalithic stone circle, which attracts people from all over the world. There is also an on-site museum displaying archaeological finds and explaining the history of the site, a sixteenth-century manor house, and the six-acre Edwardian Garden. The site also features a National Trust shop, the Circles Restaurant, a holiday cottage, and a variety of tenanted properties and farms set in and around the village itself - all within a designated World Heritage Site!
