Residential Support Worker

Location: Hereford

Salary: £27,336 - £31,775 (£12 - £12.70 per hour) Including - £62.64 per sleep-in (working approx. 4-8 sleep ins per month, an additional £3,000-£6,000pa)

Shift patterns - Full time working long day shifts 2 days on, 4 days off plus sleeps. Part time hours also considered.

Full UK Driving licence is required.

We are looking for a children's support worker to become part of our lovely family home, caring for young people who have sometimes complex emotional difficulties. You would be the person to give encouragement and praise when needed, to be patient and understanding during times of crisis and to inspire them to grow and develop.

The role can be emotionally challenging and you could be handling difficult situations BUT you could be the person to change a life for the better.

What do you need?
We want people who are naturally positive, outgoing and emotionally resilient.
Transferable skills such as education, child care, sports, police, mental health or supporting vulnerable people.
Passionate about supporting young people to achieve their goals.
Ability to remain calm during sometimes challenging situations.
Full UK Driving licence is essential.
You need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children. This will include working shifts and sleep-ins. As a therapeutic support worker you will:
Be part of a caring team that provides a safe and loving home for children and young people
Act as a positive role model to to give encouragement and praise.
Inspire our young people on a daily basis.
Provide emotional support to allow the children to reach their full potential in sometimes challenging situations
Build friendships and trusting relationships
Help them to find pleasure in everyday tasks
