So if you're looking to do what you love, we could be a perfect match.Our expectationsThe Dispatcher maximizes vehicle and delivery efficiency while effectively balancing the delivery requirements of the customer and meeting the standards of the Highway Safety Code. Your roleReceive delivery requests, schedule them as per company policy and unique customer requirements while maximizing delivery efficiencyReview shipping memos for obvious errors such as incorrect street names, duplicate orders, inflated stock quantities, and non-core SKUsRoute deliveries, partnering loads to maximize vehicle capacity and minimize delivery time and distanceEnsure all next-day deliveries are routed prior to the end of the shiftAssign vehicles and drivers to routesEnsure specialty products are routed on the appropriate truckAdvise the Supervisor of staff and vehicle requirementsReview the computer summary to ensure all orders have been routedNotify the appropriate department of problems and initiate corrective actionAssist the Dispatch office when required with answering telephone inquiries, signing in/out drivers, resolving problemsSupport daily operations (email, phone)Perform other job-related duties as requiredThe qualifications we are looking forAbility to effectively schedule, route, and coordinate deliveries, taking into account delivery boundaries, traffic restrictions, travel time, vehicle load restrictions, and load specificationsKnowledge of RONA policies and procedures with respect to order entry and deliveryKnowledge of major streets within a designated areaKnowledge of building materials and related products, current inventory levels and product alternativesAbility to prioritize and respond to situations in a timely and appropriate fashionLeadership skills, including the ability to motivate, delegate, and communicate effectivelyDetail-orientedRONA is committed to encouraging diversity and inclusion.
