Job Description

Job Title: Social Housing FRA Supervisor
Location: Islington
Salary: £43,000 - £50,000 plus van and fuel card
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role:

As a Social Housing FRA Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) related works across a portfolio of social housing properties. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring that all fire safety works, including fire door installations, fire stopping, and compartmentation, are carried out in compliance with current regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and manage all aspects of FRA works across social housing properties.
Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and British Standards (e.g., BS 9999, BS 8214).
Coordinate with the Fire Risk Assessors to review and act upon FRA reports, ensuring recommendations are implemented.
Schedule and manage contractors and subcontractors to ensure works are completed on time and to a high standard.
Carry out regular site inspections and quality checks of completed fire safety works.
Ensure adherence to Health & Safety regulations, conducting risk assessments and method statements where necessary.
Provide regular progress updates to the Contracts Manager and maintain accurate records of all works.
Liaise with tenants, housing officers, and other stakeholders to communicate the schedule of works and address any concerns.
Ensure all fire safety measures are maintained, checked, and recorded in accordance with legal requirements and internal processes.
Assist in audits, ensuring that fire safety records are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory standards.
Identify and escalate any issues or risks that may impact project timelines or quality.
Manage budgets, ensuring projects are delivered within agreed financial limits.

Key Requirements:

Proven experience in a supervisory role within FRA works, ideally within the social housing sector.
Strong knowledge of Fire Safety Regulations and compliance standards (including Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005).
Previous experience working on FRA projects, including fire door installations, fire stopping, and compartmentation works.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Good communication skills, able to liaise effectively with contractors, clients, and tenants.
Valid SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) or SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualification.
Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations and risk management.
Full, clean driving license.
[Optional] Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or fire safety accreditations would be an advantage.
