Leveraged and Acquisition Finance Senior Associate, London

A prestigious global firm is seeking a banking lawyer with extensive experience in leveraged and acquisition finance to join its well-regarded finance practice based in London.

The role covers all aspects of financing transactions, including drafting and negotiating term sheets, inter-creditor agreements, and facility agreements, with a focus on acquisition and leveraged finance. The practice advises lenders and borrowers (including financial sponsors) on domestic and cross-border leveraged acquisitions and is a leading City firm for mid-market deals. Typical transactions include private equity-backed buyouts, corporate acquisitions, public bids, refinancings, and recapitalisations. The team regularly acts for direct lending funds and banks, with recent lateral hires expected to increase sponsor-side mandates.

The successful candidate will have between 5-7 years of post-qualification experience gained within a rival City practice or highly ranked international firm. Strong academics and significant banking experience (in particular leveraged and acquisition finance) are essential.

The Senior Associates in the team are expected to actively support the Partners in business development initiatives and play a key role in supervising and mentoring the junior lawyers within the team.
