Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Business Analyst to join our team and play a crucial role in our business transformation initiatives within the energy industry. This position involves analysing current business processes ("as is") and envisioning and designing improved processes ("to be") to drive efficiency, innovation, and sustainability in our operations. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.

Day to day responsibilities

1- Business Process Analysis:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of current business processes, systems, and workflows within the energy sector.
• Identify inefficiencies, gaps, and pain points in the “as is” state and collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs.

2- Requirements Gathering:

• Engage with stakeholders across various levels of the organization to elicit, document, and prioritize business and functional requirements.
• Utilize techniques such as workshops, interviews, and surveys to gather insights.

3- Transformation Planning:

• Develop and articulate the “to be” vision for business processes and systems, outlining potential changes and key improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and recommend strategic solutions that align with organizational goals.

4- Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Leverage data analytics to inform decision-making and track progress towards transformation objectives.
• Create business cases, project plans, and reports to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

5- Stakeholder Engagement:

• Serve as a liaison between business units, IT, and external partners throughout the transformation process.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration to ensure alignment on objectives and outcomes.

6- Change Management:

• Assist in the development of change management strategies to support the successful implementation of new processes and systems.
• Provide training and resources to team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

7- Research and Benchmarking:

• Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the energy sector to ensure competitive advantage.
• Conduct benchmarking studies to assess organizational performance against industry standards.

Skills and experience required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Experience of being involved in change programmes, ideally, coming from a background of working with Traders.
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the energy or utilities sector, with a focus on business transformation.
• Strong knowledge of business process modeling, analysis techniques, and tools (e.g., BPMN, UML, Visio).
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., Excel, SQL, BI tools).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
