Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Director of Finance to join our client in Ottawa, Ontario. In this role, you will be in charge of all financial and accounting activities, ensuring the financial integrity of the organization. You will also be expected to work closely with other senior executives to support strategic decision-making. Responsibilities: -Oversee the creation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS. -Ensure precise and timely reporting to regulatory bodies. -Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide insights to support business decisions. -Manage all external audits and facilitate communication with external auditors and the Audit Committee. -Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team. -Foster a culture of continual improvement and professional development within the team. -Contribute to the creation and implementation of financial policies and procedures. -Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support organizational goals. -Collaborate with the CFO and executive team to develop and execute the company's strategic plan. -Provide financial insights and recommendations to support growth initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic projects. -Manage a team of four Senior Finance Managers. Qualifications: -Extensive experience in leading finance with a minimum of 10 years in a leadership role within a larger, publicly traded company. -Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems -Familiarity with CRM and Enterprise Resource Planning systems -Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions -Experience in developing Annual Budgets and overseeing Budget Processes -Expertise in Auditing and preparing Financing Statements -Capability to prepare Financial Statements as per IFRS - International Financial Reporting Standards and IFRS Accounting -Knowledgeable in Regulatory Reporting and overseeing External Audits -Familiar with the development and implementation of Policies & Procedures -Proven track record in Strategic Planning -CPA is required with an additional MBA beneficial. -Previous Big 4 Accounting firm experience is desired.
