Accounts Payable Specialist

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Toronto, Ontario. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic finance team where they will manage intricate accounts payable functions across multiple currencies, systems, and company entities. They will need to be proficient in various accounting software platforms and have a solid background in international financial operations.Responsibilities:- Manage the processing and reconciliation of invoices in multiple currencies, ensuring accurate exchange rate application.- Monitor and manage currency fluctuations to optimize payment strategies.- Collaborate with treasury to hedge currency risks and execute foreign currency payments.- Utilize multiple accounting systems to manage and track payables, ensuring seamless integration and data accuracy.- Develop and implement system improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounts payable processes.- Provide training and support to team members on system functionalities and updates.- Oversee accounts payable processes for multiple company entities, ensuring compliance with each entity's policies and procedures.- Prepare and consolidate reports for management review, highlighting key metrics and insights across all entities.- Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve discrepancies and maintain strong relationships.- Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations and company policies.- Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to accounts payable transactions.- Generate and analyze financial reports to support decision-making and strategic planning.- Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the company's accounts payable processes remain current and compliant.- Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist- Experience with Sage 50 and QuickBooks strong preferred- Experience working with multi-currencies- Have a solid understanding of various accounting functions- Display expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures- In-depth experience working in the G/L- Familiarity with manual Accounting processes- Strong attention to detail, initiative, and integrityRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
