Job Description

We are seeking a National Payroll Manager to join our team in Concord, Ontario. The individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll operations, including processing, tax and accounting, audits, and compliance. This role will also involve leading the payroll team, managing payroll for all team members across Canada, and ensuring all legislative requirements are met.Key responsibilities:- Oversee day-to-day operations of the payroll process, ensuring standardization and efficiency.- Lead the payroll team, providing guidance and coaching in payroll process and compliance.- Manage the preparation and processing of payroll related activities for all team members across Canada.- Perform payroll related accounting procedures, including GL Payroll account reconciliations and journal entries.- Ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll accounting procedures to meet the requirements of internal and external auditors.- Prepare monthly reconciliation, annual returns of remittance and filing of all Government agencies.- Compile year-end processing and reporting for T4, T4A, Relevé 1, T2200s, taxable benefits, garnishee, EHT, WSIB, CSST.- Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements regarding tax withholding, remitting tax payments, fulfilling wage garnishments, preparing T4's, and income reporting.- Conduct audits on data and system maintenance in Dayforce HCM and ADP WFN.- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities for payroll processes and systems.- Provide support to all areas of the business for any payroll related questions / inquiries or provincial payroll related legislation.- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism to ensure privacy of employee records.- Act as a liaison with all Government agencies and assist with internal / external audits.- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a payroll management role- Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now- Familiarity with ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode- Experience with Ceridian and Crystal Reports- Knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration and About Time software- Strong understanding of accounting and auditing functions- Experience managing benefit functions- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team-oriented environment- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferredRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
