Job Description
Manpower has a unique opportunity for a Procurement Category Specialist to join the team with our Client based in Bracknell. With the opportunity to work remotely or a hybrid mix of home and office the successful become part of the specialist, converting and pack out services department.
This is a varied role and some day to day responsibilities will include:
- Supporting supplier consolidation, helping the procurement organisation meet its cost saving and working capital goals
- Minimising the total product and process cost by initiating cost reduction efforts and facilitating implementation of innovative procurement best practices
- Supporting supplier selection and owning external supplier relationships as the key point of contact. Leading negotiations, being part of effective NPI launches and managing complex supplier relationships
- Identify, lead and implement solutions for complex and multi-faceted situations regarding dual sourcing, negotiation, category strategy, supplier management and external sources of supply
- Determining and leading opportunities for process improvements that improve, service, speed or cost through analysis of procurement information and metrics
- Implementing and negotiating agreements to cover complex supplier relationships which may include vendor managed inventory, consigned materials and formula-based pricing
The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement with contract manufacturers and have at least 5 years' experience in direct materials, GFR, converting, assembly and kitting. Strong negotiation skills and previous experience in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on complex projects is a must.
