An opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual to join our skilled multidisciplinary team delivering urgent and unscheduled primary care to the population of Tayside in the Out of Hours period. For the right individual Out of Hours offers a rewarding, stimulating and flexible career working in a supportive environment in our Primary Care Emergency Centres as we develop the service further in community settings.

As an autonomous practitioner, you will be able to undertake a high level of clinical assessment in order to address undifferentiated illness. You will play a key role in the leadership and development of nursing practice within the OOH service and will participate in the delivery of high quality evidence based and person centred care.

Applicants should have or be working towards a post graduate in advanced practice. We may also consider applications for trainee ANP posts and will support the development of individuals to meet advanced practice competencies. This will be supported by a triangulation approach of academic courses, mentorship and clinical supervision. Applicants for trainee posts should have demonstrate evidence of undertaking courses relevant to the advanced practice pathway and be able to demonstrate the ability to study at level 11. Remuneration associated with Trainee posts (Band 6 Annex 21) will be during completion of qualifications and assurance of competencies.

Applicants should be registered on either or part Part 1 or Part 2 of the UK NMC Register, with extensive post registration experience and will be able to demonstrate expert clinical knowledge and professional practice preferably in an unscheduled care or primary care setting.

You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA, RN8 or RNC or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
