Davies is a multi-award-winning operations management, consulting, and digital solutions provider to organisations in highly regulated markets, including insurance, financial services, utilities, communications and to regulatory bodies. Our core services include Claims Solutions, Insurance Services Consulting and Technology and Legal Solutions.


The role


Exciting opportunity for a Lead Designer to work in a collaborative and supportive environment within Davies marketing and communications. Reporting into the Group Head of Creative, you will lead the development and execution of design concepts for the brand across multiple channels, as well as from an employer brand standpoint.


Key responsibilities


  • Lead the team regarding brand creative, including guideline development and adherence.
  • Provide daily direction to the design team, advising the team on creative that aligns with our visual identity and branding.
  • Lead team members on branding guidelines and provides support and oversight to help them apply the brand in their projects.
  • Lead campaign concepting and design prioritization with our design team.
  • Manage projects using project management software.
  • Work with a wide range of media, including photography, illustration, animation and video footage to deliver bid creative that is fresh, innovative, on-brand and focused on brand
  • Collaborate with fellow designers in the development of creative required
  • Lead and mentor a team of creatives in the UK, US & India, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Provide constructive feedback to enhance both their skills and performance and that of their respective teams.
  • Ensure consistency and cohesiveness of the brand across all communication channels.
  • Keep up to date with design best practice and industry trends to prompt new ideas and the development of new creative tactics to enhance our and stay ahead of the market


Key skills and experience required


  • Extensive industry experience as a graphic designer in-house or agency
  • A graphic design qualification or similar
  • Thorough working knowledge and strong technical skills in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Excellent layout and typography skills
  • Insurance and/or professional services experience preferred
  • Possess a portfolio that demonstrates creative flair and an attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret design briefs independently to produce relevant creative using own initiative
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, running multiple projects concurrently and often operating to tight deadlines
  • A positive, high-energy team player motivated to constantly innovate, improve and push creative boundaries
  • Video editing and animation skills
