Milestone Infrastructure is currently looking to recruit Area Manager to work on our Highways Maintenance contract in Peterborough.
As a/the Area Manager you will be part of our operations team who are responsible for delivery of Highway Maintenance and Street Lighting services.
The Peterborough Highways Services contract is a long term partnership between Milestone Infrastructure and Peterborough City Council, dedicated to the provision of Highways and Street Lighting maintenance activities and capital improvements of the local infrastructure
As the Area Manager your duties & responsibilities will be:
- Manage Highway Maintenance and Street Lighting maintenance teams.
- Manage the winter service and emergency call out process.
- Be the contract lead for the behavioural safety programme (It Starts With Me).
- Manage utilisation of the Causeway works order management system.
- Ensure optimum utilisation of employed resources and developmental management of direct reports.
- Manage all undertakings to ensure SHEWQ Milestone minimum standards and industry legislation are adhered to.
- Ensure area commercial performance meets forecast targets.
- Management of the depot working areas in line with Milestone HS&E policies and procedures and sector regulations.
- Report to the Operations Manager on all aspects of the Area performance and undertake delegated duties in line with contract management.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Industry related professional qualification, degree or HNC or equivalent.
- Experience in highway maintenance and street lighting operations management.
- Skilled and competent in use of general MS tools.
- Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or equivalent.
- NRSWA or equivalent.
- CSCS card holder or equivalent.
- Detailed understanding of health and safety management and the requirements of CDM.
- Budget management and cost control skills.
- Experience of line management
