Job Description

Overview

One of America's largest retailers is seeking a VP of Financial Protection Products to join their growing company!

The Vice President of Financial Protection Products will spearhead growth strategies within their well-established multi-million-dollar insurance, warranty, and finance businesses. This role involves collaborating with internal business unit leaders and cross-functional teams to integrate and maximize opportunities within our owned channels. The Vice President will drive new business expansion, requiring an entrepreneurial mindset, strong leadership skills, and the ability to build and guide a core team. They will be responsible for shaping and executing divisional insurance strategies and overseeing partner relationships.

Note: Candidates based in Chicago will have the option to work from either Chicago or Lincolnshire headquarters, with a hybrid work schedule of three days per week in the office. For candidates located outside of Chicago, the position is available as fully remote, with occasional travel (up to 25%) required to their Illinois offices. For Colorado candidates, the position can be based in their Denver office with a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Strategy:
    • Oversee and expand the Insurance Agency, Finance Center, and Extended Service Plan businesses, focusing on operational excellence and growth.
    • Identify and develop key growth and profitability areas, crafting and implementing strategic growth initiatives for all products.
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships to achieve growth targets and enhance operational support.
  • Business Expansion:
    • Collaborate with enterprise leaders to identify opportunities for expanding product offerings and increasing consumer access to services.
    • Optimize partner management to boost efficiency and customer support through the insurance agency or finance center.
    • Prepare and present quarterly business expansion plans and market competitiveness assessments.
  • Marketing and Communication:
    • Manage cross-channel marketing strategies in conjunction with internal and partner marketing teams.
    • Conduct weekly and monthly business reviews to drive growth and refine marketing strategies.
    • Identify improvement opportunities, develop action plans, and ensure alignment with business KPIs.
    • Provide KPI assessments and improvement plans to the executive team.
  • Insurance Agency Development:
    • Expand agency offerings and forge new partnerships to enhance customer support.
    • Develop strategies to expand industry reach into marine and other key sectors.
    • Oversee sales strategies with partners to align customer experiences with business goals.
  • Finance Center Development:
    • Partner with financing experts to expand product offerings and establish go-to-market strategies.
    • Serve as the primary contact for internal finance center expansion into new products and services.
  • Digital Experience Enhancement:
    • Drive the development of enhanced digital experiences for Insurance Agency, Finance Center, and Extended Service Plan products.
    • Advocate for partner investment in technology to support business needs.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in operations strategy, business development, marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in insurance.
  • 5+ years of experience in P&L management and leadership.
  • Extensive experience in partner and vendor management.
  • Proven track record in human capital management and team development.
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills for engaging with internal and external executives.
  • Entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as required.

This role reports directly to the Division SVP of Protection Products and plays a critical role in driving the growth and success of our insurance and finance divisions.
