Job Description

Your new company Our client is a privately held commercial real estate group based in British Columbia, Canada. They specialize in the acquisition, development, and management of commercial properties, including retail centers, office buildings, and industrial spaces. With nearly 60 years of experience, they manage a portfolio of nearly two million square feet of commercial property across the province. The in-house team of leasing, property management, accounting and legal professionals carefully and efficiently manage the maintenance and financial circumstances of each property, delivering the highest standard of customer service to nearly 400 commercial tenants. Your new role The Property Manager will be based in Vancouver and manage a commercial portfolio in the Lower Mainland. Responsibilities include overseeing operations, management, and administration of the portfolio, managing on-site teams, and handling annual operating and capital budgets to meet landlord objectives. The role is ideal for an experienced property management professional with a proven track record of delivering excellent service to tenants and landlords. Duties encompass supporting the company’s property management strategies, maintaining policies, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, addressing tenant issues promptly, preparing and managing budgets, overseeing building operations and maintenance, and ensuring compliance with lease agreements. What you need to succeed The ideal candidate should have experience in preparing operating budgets, reviewing operating statements, and interpreting leases. They must possess strong knowledge of operational procedures, building maintenance, construction, and service contracts, along with the ability to maintain effective internal controls. A positive, proactive attitude, strong team building, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential. Experience in tenant improvements, including the building permit process, and the ability to manage complex landlord-tenant relationships are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Yardi, a valid driver’s license, and adaptability to modern technology are necessary. The candidate should be self-motivated, organized, able to multi-task, and meet deadlines, with strong verbal and written communication skills. They should be a resourceful self-starter, eager to learn, and a team player.
