Data Platform Engineer

DAY TO DAY: Insight Global is looking for a Data Platform Engineer to join one of Canada’s largest athleisure companies. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in Snowflake Administration and be collaborating with engineers and architects across other Snowflake teams across the company. They will be responsible for guiding others on unresolved issues such as setting up new policies, creating reports, providing access to financial data or anything related to Snowflake administration. You will be part of the Data engineering team building multi cloud data platform using snowflake and aws/azure data platform. The ideal candidate will be someone who has the skills of an azure administrator, snowflake administration using Devops process and help the data engineers to build the data platform to satisfy business needs. The platform engineer would also be responsible for continuously identifying opportunities for automation and reduction of technical debt to create efficiencies & optimize data delivery. They should also work with other stakeholders to understand the non-functional requirements and making sure the data platform environments are scalable, secured, legally compliant. Lastly, this individual will have to be located in Vancouver and open to working hybrid on-site 2 days a week. The candidate should have the requirements listed below: MUST HAVES: 2 years experience as a Snowflake Data Administrator Working experience in python scripting for automation. Technical troubleshooting in a sometimes, ambiguous environment. Clear knowledge on setting up CI/CD for data platforms. PLUSSES: 2 years of experience as an Azure Devops Engineer ( using GitLab and Azure Infrastructure) BS or equivalent 2 years of experience using Terraform. Experience working with cloud-based database systems - Snowflake data warehouses.
