This is a full-time position for a therapist who will manage pieces of the clinical work at Family Plus and have a part time case load seeing children, youth, and families. Just a few reasons why you will love working here: · Flexibility in your schedule · Training opportunities in evidence based leading-edge techniques and methods · Paid vacation (4 weeks), health benefits, great space to work, healthy case load, and a great team Responsibilities: · Leading the Clinical Services at Family Plus (supervising students, training new team members, case consultations, leading the clinical team) · Working with children and families, both in individual and group therapeutic settings · Recognizing mental health disorders among children, and developing treatment plans based on clinical symptoms and disorders · Treating child neurodevelopmental conditions through an ACE philosophy lens · Using a variety of therapeutic interventions including person-centred, psychodynamic, trauma-informed, solution-focused, family systems, and cognitive-behavioural through a child-based format · Advocating for the child and their family members from a culturally appropriate, trauma-informed perspective · Consulting with in-house and external interdisciplinary professionals · Preparing and presenting training materials for multidisciplinary professionals on varying issues relating to mental health Skills to Succeed: · A Master’s degree in a counselling discipline · Post-graduate direct clinical experience · An insured member of a Professional Association (NBASW or CCTNB) · The ability to use techniques like motivational interviewing to facilitate client involvement and change · Experience leading a team Salary: $80 000 - $90 000 a year.
