Co-op Engineering Solutions

Job Summary: The Engineering Solutions Co-op Student will assist with various projects and tasks within the distribution and industrial engineering departments. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in warehouse design, process optimization, and technology implementation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Update and maintain documentation for standardized workflows and procedures. Assist with warehouse reconfiguration initiatives and support the implementation of new material handling technologies. Analyze current warehouse technology and assist in developing recommendations for improvements. Participate in the development of productivity standards using time study methods. Support ongoing facility maintenance programs, including racking inspections and safety checks. Assist in the research and documentation of advanced warehouse automation systems. Contribute to process improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing costs within the distribution network. Provide support for the creation and analysis of operational strategies focusing on safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Skills, Experience, Education, Certifications: Currently enrolled in an Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related program. Familiarity with basic concepts of warehouse and distribution operations is a plus. Proficiency in Excel and MS Office; experience with AutoCAD is an advantage but not required. An understanding of LEAN principles or Six Sigma methodologies is beneficial but not essential. Competencies: Ability to accurately maintain documentation and follow safety procedures. Capable of analyzing processes and systems to recommend improvements. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with various stakeholders. Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
