As the school develops its exciting digital strategy, which is centred around O365 and Microsoft Surface devices for staff and girls, Computing will play a major role in the innovative work that will take place over the coming years. This will provide an aspirational and strategic subject specialist with the opportunity to contribute to a strong tradition of computing at Francis Holland.

Computing is taught at Key Stage 3 to all year groups covering core concepts of computational science. There are two other members of the Computer Science department. In addition to this, we run both GCSE and A-Level courses in Computer Science which have attracted some strong candidates, some of whom have continued with the subject at university.

The ICT facilities on offer to the girls are excellent and we possess well equipped teaching spaces with a number of outstanding resources in robotics, design, and computing. We use the latest software and most relevant coding languages to ensure our girls are ready for the digital world.

The co-curriculum is essential to Francis Holland School, and we offer a number of clubs to enrich the girls experience, including our robotics club and popular Python coding club. All department members contribute to the activities on offer during and after school hours.
