We have an exciting opportunity for a ARC GIS Solution Architect to join the Central Architecture team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

Our Architecture team are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.

As a core member of the architecture team, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing GIS based solutions that align with our business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ARC GIS/ESRI, functional architectural expertise, and a proven track record of successful implementations, particularly involving modern integrations with CRM, ERP and Data & Analytics platforms.

The programme will include several proof of concepts (PoCs) and pilots to improve process, prove new technologies and conclude with a phased roll-out across the entire Yorkshire region.

This is an exciting transformation to be a part of, providing the opportunity to design solutions based on modern technology stacks, that will modernise the way we manage our customer and operations processes.

The successful candidate will join the YW Architecture team helping shape and lead a number of strategic programmes. They must be able to work autonomously across a number of programme streams, partnering with system integrators (SIs) to deliver a future proof and scalable design when it comes to utilisation of the ARC GIS platform.

Where you fit in:

As our ARC GIS Solution Architect you will

  • Provide technical guidance and design leadership on the GIS architecture, staying abreast of the latest ARC GIS updates and adopting where appropriate.
  • Deliver a GIS roadmap, aligned to Modernisation programme objectives and company strategy
  • Provide In-depth knowledge of ARC GIS and ARCGIS Online, customization, configuration, integration and analytical capabilities.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of seamless GIS integrations with YW enterprise applications, ensuring optimal data flow and enhancing overall system efficiency.
  • Create and maintain GIS related architecture artefacts, including architecture diagrams, high level design and decision notes.
  • Lead and support the recruitment of specialist GIS resources into the business in support of programme delivery and Yorkshire Waters target operating model

What skills & qualifications you will need:

  • Excellent communication skills are a must, with the ability to convey complex design concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to assist in translating business requirements to features and user stories.
  • Strong architectural, functional and technical experience of designing and implementing comprehensive ARC GIS solutions, including integrations with other enterprise systems (e.g. ERP, CRM).
  • Experience of delivering GIS strategies and roadmaps.
  • Strong understanding of a GIS Utility Network data model, and core processes required for an implementation, ideally within the utilities sector.
  • Experiencing acting as design lead on complex implementations with other knowledgeable consultants when it comes to GIS solutions integrated within the enterprise.
  • Experience of mapping end to end architectures within a complex system landscape, inclusive of data and integration design
  • Experienced working with large design and delivery teams to drive great outcomes (a blend of client and Systems Integrator resources)
  • Experience being an active member of architecture governance forums in support of BAU or Programme based design decisions.

You will also benefit from having:

  • Experience of designing solutions integrating ARC GIS with SAP S/4HANA and CRM platforms, using modern integration technologies.
  • Experience delivering persona based, GIS Centric analytical dashboards.
  • Strong utilities experience, particularly with regards customer and asset management
  • Knowledge and experience working Microsoft Azure API Management to deliver event-based integrations.
  • Relevant certifications in ARC GIS
