Domestic Abuse Navigator

£22,113.00 per annum

35 hours per week

About the role

As a New Horizons Floating Domestic Abuse Navigator, you will be delivering individualised and person-centred support to aid the recovery, healing and resilience of individuals, and families in re-building their lives and minimising the risk of future harm following experiences of domestic abuse.

The role will involve working flexibly across South Derbyshire, supporting people within a portfolio of temporary dispersed refuge accommodation as well as offering floating support within the local community for individuals and families affected by domestic abuse

We are looking individuals with relevant experience in providing specialist support to people have experienced domestic abuse.

Essential to the role is a positive ‘can do' attitude whilst working with individuals and families affected by domestic abuse.

About You

  • Excellent communication skills as well as a customer focussed approach are essential
  • The ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and professionals within partner agencies
  • Work using a person-centred approach
  • Ability to risk assess using the CAADA/DASH
  • Experience of safety planning and assessing risk
  • Working knowledge of MARAC and its process
  • To work as a part of a team sharing the duty day cover as per rota
  • A working knowledge of legislation in relation to domestic abuse and housing whilst delivering support to vulnerable people
  • IT Literate and competent with word, excel, support planning software and database management and creation
  • Experience of using a case management system
  • Experience of agile working across locations in South Derbyshire to support a case load of clients
