Job Description
Principal Pipeline Design Engineer - ManchesterDue to project growth the position of Principal Pipeline Engineer has become available to join our successful team based in Manchester.
Costain provides engineering services to the Energy, Water, Transport, Nuclear and Defence sectors. The role will join the pipelines discipline team within Costain's Energy Division.
Working for and on behalf of BP, as part of the East Coast Cluster's Carbon Capture & Storage project, Costain are delivering the FEED services for a new CO2 (BP NZT/NEP) and blue Hydrogen (BP H2T) distribution pipeline network in Teesside and its brownfield landscape.
We are looking for a Principal Pipeline Engineer to work on the EPCM phase of the following project and are keen to hear from candidates with significant experience of acting in similar roles on FEED & EPC projects for onshore brownfield oil & gas facilities; gas pipelines and energy transition projects.
This is a hybrid role with 2/3 days based at the Manchester office with the option for dynamic working

Role Requirements
• Engineering degree with 15 years' experience in the oil and gas sector- Pipelines.
• Knowledge of the application of relevant regulatory codes and standards.
Preparation of pipeline related specifications and datasheets.
• Specification methods of pipeline crossing details.
Pipeline risk identification, qualification management and HSEx requirements.
Experience in design studies for C02 & H2 Pipelines.
• Champions Sustainability Safety, Health and Environment by putting personal safety and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do and helping the environment and communities to thrive
• Having integrity by always doing the right thing in the right way
• Must be customer focussed by striving for excellence through understanding, anticipating and meeting their needs
