Are you an experienced Staff Nurse looking for a new challenge and career progression? Would you like the opportunity to live and work on the picturesque Isle of Skye on the rugged west coast of Scotland. If so, this could be the job for you. We are looking to recruit a Senior Staff Nurse for our General Nursing Ward at Broadford Hospital which serves the population of Skyle, Lochalsh and Wester Ross.

This role will offer the opportunity for you to work within a supportive team who are dedicated to the provision of quality care. So if you are interested in working within a dedicated team with the opportunity to further develop and enhance your skills then this is the role for you. This is a rewarding and hands-on role where youll have the opportunity to make a real impact working with the welcoming communities in Skye, Lochalsh and Wester Ross.

You will be a Registered Nurse on Part 1 of the NMC register and possess effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience of leading a team or ward management would be desirable as would knowledge of change management and service improvement. You will work autonomously to provide care to in-patients and will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver on patient outcomes and goals. NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
