Who We Are

As NHS Scotland's unique provider of a national tele-health and tele-care service, we are responsible for the delivery of health advice and information by telephone and online services to the population of Scotland 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. NHS 24 is a patient-focused service providing the people of Scotland with triage, advice, guidance, referral and information on health and healthcare services.

We have six regional centres Aberdeen, Dundee, South Queensferry, Hillington, Cardonald and Clydebank. NHS 24 supports hybrid working, and this post can be based within any NHS 24 regional centres. The successful candidate must be within commuting distance to a regional centre to attend if required and must also be able to travel to other regional centres when requested to attend meetings, undertake training and any other activities.

The Role

The successful candidate will strategically manage the data architecture of NHS 24's applications and systems while acting as the lead organisational contact for third party suppliers in relation to the data architecture of the NHS 24 infrastructure and application suite.

They will also be accountable for the management and integrity of the overall data architecture of the NHS 24 Application suite and will manage the delivery of changes to the data architecture within the NHS 24 application suite for the organisation, exercising associated governance and controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Working closely with key suppliers the post holder will be responsible for the definition and implementation of master data changes within the NHS 24 Application suite.

• The post holder will be responsible for the development of the 3 year data architecture strategy in line with NHS 24's Strategic Operating Plan, working closely with the NHS 24 expert user groups.

• Establish, implement and manage quality assurance processes for the management of data within the Application suite that will ensure that all databases hold cleaner data which improves the accuracy of analytics, and the data business decisions are based upon.

• Work with senior stakeholders to identify emerging needs and business changes relating to the data within the NHS 24 Application suite.

• Competently design, developandmaintain adequate databases and plans using computerised systems to provide up to date, relevant and accurate information for all parties involved in the support and development of the NHS 24 Application suite by using a range of systems and equipment.

Successful Applicant will:

• Be educated to degree level in anappropriateareaandextensive experience in a relatedarea.

• Have experience indesigningand developing Databases,DataWarehousesandMultidimensionalDatabases.

• Possess extensivepreviousexperienceworkingwith CRMand relatedtechnologies.

• Be able toexplain technical aspectsof systemtonon-technicalprofessionals.

• Use experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.

Benefits

NHS 24 offers a complete benefits package, with a permanent contract on Band 7 with a salary ranging from £48,788 to £56,747 Per Annum (pro rata if applicable). Placement on salary scale is dependent on confirmation of previous relevant NHS service.
