Simulation Designer

Attensi is the global leader in 3D gamified simulation training for large corporations. Using a unique blend of gamification and realism, combined with deep and varied interactivity that is powered by our game AI, we create a ‘learning by doing’ training environment, offering a radically new method to achieve real, measurable behavioural change in large organisations.

Attensi was established in Norway in 2012 and our training is now being used by global brands in more than 140 countries and in 30 different languages. We recently secured $26M investment from Lugard Road Capital, DX Ventures and Viking Venture and are now excited to be focusing on global expansion plans.

Our London office currently consists of 75 Game Changers, which, including our HQ in Oslo brings us to a team of over 250 in total. Since opening here in 2017 we have started working with some of the largest retail, hospitality and professional services brands in the UK, US and other markets. Our portfolio includes clients such as Waitrose, Itsu, Boston Consulting Group, Hiscox, PwC and others.

Due to the rapid growth and success of our Attensi London office, we are now looking for a talented and creative Simulation Designer to work on our gamified-training content team.

This is an opportunity for a talented L&D professional to put their creativity and flair for the written word to good use.

As a Simulation Designer, you will be the creative mastermind behind the learning journey and the learner’s experience for our customer projects. We believe that good stories make good games (and good training, too). Working with a variety of customers across sectors and game-formats, you will leverage your curiosity, creativity, and technical understanding to create learning experiences that engage users to help them achieve their learning objectives.

We are looking for curious, open minded and creative people with a passion for making a difference and having an impact on people’s everyday lives. You will have experience with developing compelling training with a strong narrative focus, ideally including dialogues. You are also someone who is comfortable working in a setting where client interaction and research is part of the journey in creating the learning experience and enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

You will have:

• A strong sense of pedagogical best practice
• Solid experience developing compelling narratives and dialogues
• A strong understanding of narrative structure
• Good understanding of story and an creating an experience that engages the audience
• The ability to work as part of a project team where timelines and customer management are important part of creating the final product
• The ability to interpret client requirements and adapt adapt style to match a project's tone, business requirements, and learning goals
• Excellent English, both written and verbal
• Experience with or interest in game design is very much a plus!

What will you do?

The very first thing you will do once you join Attensi is to get to know our products, values and way of operating. We want you to get under the skin of our business and truly understand the mechanics and the magic of how we provide our customers with experiences they love, and help their employees develop new skills and behaviours.

Beyond that, on a day-to-day basis your role will largely revolve around activities such as:

• Create and write compelling natural dialogue for characters within a variety of business- and organizational settings
• Working in our custom-built platform to create design and create gamified training (no coding needed – just a creative vision and an open mind!)
• Work closely day-to-day with project managers, visual designers and sales to understand customer training needs and their learning objectives
• Run workshops and interviews with customers to get under the skin of their needs and identify the right approach for their learning experience
• Take an active role in Attensi's development team

Our games are available across a variety of formats and platforms, including mobile, VR and PC, and you will use a broad range of creative and technical skills to create interactive narration in this role.
