Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver technology programs and projects within a large financial services organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing multi-year technology initiatives and will excel in stakeholder management at all levels, including interactions with CIOs and functional technology heads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Delivery:
- Oversee the delivery of medium-scale, multi-year technology programs, managing a diverse team of 50+ delivery staff across technology and functional areas.
- Support Programme Directors in establishing governance and controls to ensure successful delivery across sub-projects and programs.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Engage with senior management, including CIOs and functional heads, to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and issues.
- Quality Assurance:
- Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure adherence to coding standards and implementation of best practices.
- Participate in technical design discussions and review technical documentation to ensure compliance and process improvement.
- Project Strategy:
- Shape the overall project strategy, working closely with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Monitor project schedules to ensure timely delivery in accordance with defined quality standards.
- Technical Collaboration:
- Collaborate with development teams and on-site engineers to understand technical requirements and address technical issues effectively.
- Facilitate discussions between technical and functional teams to resolve challenges and promote seamless integration.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and flag potential risks and issues that may impact project timelines or quality.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies or contingency plans as necessary.
Required Skills:
- Primary Skills:
- Strong project management skills, with expertise in applications (APPS) and stakeholder management.
- Technical Expertise:
- Experience managing change across applications, infrastructure, and operating models within technology.
- Familiarity with multiple delivery methodologies, including waterfall and SAFe.
- Leadership Skills:
- Proven ability to manage and lead diverse teams effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving results.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
