St Michael's Manor Hotel is a unique (Boutique) country-style manor hotel located in St Albans, set in five acres of private English country gardens with its own lake. The hotel boasts 30 individually styled bedrooms and a restaurant with stunning views of the grounds.


Key Responsibilities:1. Food and Beverage Operations:
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the hotel’s food and beverage outlets, including the restaurant, bar, room service, and events.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of weddings, conferences, and events, ensuring all guest requirements are met and delivered to a high standard.
  • Ensure that all food and beverage services are delivered efficiently and to the highest quality, in line with hotel standards.
  • Monitor inventory, control costs, and manage stock levels for all food and beverage operations.
  • Work closely with the culinary team to maintain the quality and consistency of menu offerings.
2. Guest Experience:
  • Ensure guests receive exceptional service and personalised attention during their stay or event.
  • Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and complaints, ensuring quick resolution and satisfaction.
  • Conduct pre-event meetings with clients to discuss details and ensure all aspects of weddings, conferences, or events are planned and executed as desired.
  • Actively monitor guest feedback and collaborate with the team to continuously improve service.
3. Staff Management:
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising food and beverage staff to ensure high performance and service levels.
  • Oversee team schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels for all areas and events.
  • Support staff development through training sessions, mentoring, and providing feedback.
  • Maintain a positive, motivated working environment, promoting teamwork and guest satisfaction.
4. Financial Management:
  • Assist in managing budgets for food and beverage operations, focusing on controlling expenses and maximising profitability.
  • Analyse sales and operational reports, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing and promotional strategies to drive sales and increase revenue for weddings, conferences, and restaurant services.
5. Health and Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations within food and beverage areas.
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure food preparation and storage standards meet regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the maintenance of food safety documentation, ensuring staff are trained in best practices.
6. Event Coordination:
  • Work closely with the Events Coordinator to manage the setup, execution, and breakdown of weddings, conferences, and private events.
  • Ensure smooth communication between the kitchen, service staff, and event planners to deliver flawless event execution.
  • Be present during events to oversee operations and ensure client expectations are exceeded.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within food and beverage operations, preferably in a hotel or event-driven environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards, event management, and hospitality trends.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to handle weddings, events, conferences, and restaurant operations simultaneously.
  • A commitment to delivering high levels of guest service.
