Job Description
Zen Educate are looking for a HLTA to join a fantastic SEN school based in South Bristol. The school are either looking for someone full or part time so all applications will be reviewed.
The school are looking for someone confident and has experience working with children with complex educational, medical and behavioural needs. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will provide personalised SEN provision by delivering lesson plans and supporting students in accessing the cirriculum at an appropriate level and adapting the learning to make it accessible for students with specific needs.
Higher Level Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
* Attend planning meetings and under the overall direction and guidance of the teacher, contribute to the short, medium and long term planning and preparation of lessons.
* Deliver lessons, under the direction of the teacher, including covering for teacher absence and delivery specific interventions to students.
* Monitoring, evaluating and providing teachers with feedback on students’ participation and progress against LIM targets.
* Contribute to the maintenance of student records.
* Help students make progress in a range of learning settings including working with individuals, small groups and whole classes where the assigned teacher is not present.
* Support teachers in selecting and preparing teaching resources that meet the students’ needs and interests. Liaise with the class teacher to devise complementary learning activities.
* Being aware of confidential issues linked to home/student/teacher/school work and to keep confidences as appropriate.
* Manage medical needs effectively following the Health Needs Policy.
