Job Description

At EA First, we are looking for a Managing Director to join a growing wholesale business based in Birmingham, operating within the workwear & PPE sector.


The role focuses on driving the continued success journey for the business, maintaining high levels of growth, profitability and engagement.


Leading wholesale business based in Birmingham.


As Managing Director you will expand existing operations and explore opportunities for new business functions, whether through organic growth or strategic acquisitions.


This role is crucial for navigating a transformative period and ensuring sustained success in an evolving business landscape.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement the company's long-term strategic plan, aligning business goals with market opportunities and industry trends
  • Drive business growth by identifying new markets, product lines, and distribution channels.
  • Lead the company's expansion efforts, including exploring potential mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all departments, including supply chain, sales, marketing, and customer service.
  • Implement best practices in procurement, inventory management, and logistics to maintain product quality and availability.
  • Manage the company's financial health, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial analysis, cost control, and profitability.
  • Oversee the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies to increase market share and brand recognition.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and ensuring a reliable supply chain.
  • Lead initiatives to innovate and expand the company's product range, staying ahead of industry trends and customer needs.


  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably within the workwear, PPE, or textiles industries - Essential.
  • Must have minimum 5 years experience operating as a Managing Director - Essential.
  • Strong understanding of the UK market and regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrated success in driving business growth and operational excellence.
  • Excellent financial acumen and experience managing budgets and P&L.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a diverse team.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced and competitive market.
  • Within commutable distance to Birmingham.


£100,000 - £120,000
