Tarmac are recruiting for an new colleague to work as our Readymix Shipperfor our ReadymixRMX business to join our friendly Midlands team where you will be based from The Hub in Mountsorrel, Quorn, near to Loughborough in Leicestershire. This role is commutable from such locations as Loughborough, Leicester, Melton Mowbray, Barrow upon Soar, Syston, Shepshed, Coalville, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Ibstock, Swadlincote, Measham, Tamworth, Atherstone, Hinkley, Nottingham, Derby, Long Eaton, Kegworth, Burton upon Trent and the surrounding areas.

Reporting to the Customer Services Manager, theReadymix Shipperwillplay a critical part inthe delivery of a professional distribution service to our customers;devising a
schedule that accounts for the needs of the customer, optimisation of the plant network and most cost-effective use of the vehicle fleet.

On a day to day basis, the responsibilities of the Readymix Shipperwill include the following (not exhaustive):

• Contributingto the success of the team by providing the best offer for our customers;enhancing their experience
• Promoting Tarmac as the supplier of choice
• Effectively planand schedule the programme of works; ensuring timely delivery of orders against agreed timeframes
• Making educated decisions on optimum fleet numbers, transfers & requirement for hired trucks using all necessarydata
• Managing thehired haulage cost through understanding Owner Driver earnings vs cost of hiring externally/transferring trucks
• Monitoring real time progress of scheduled orders allowing you to identify potential problem areas and proactivelyresolve them effectively
• Liaisingwith plants to ensure raw materials are in place to meet the forecast order and delivery schedule
• Providingcustomers with progress information of deliveries, in particular immediate notification of late loads

To succeed in the role of a Readymix Shipper,the following is what we are looking for in a future colleague:

Understanding of out of hours agreement, truck sizes, availability and payment terms
Awareness and understanding of individual plant capacities and capabilities
An ability to effectively operate a varied range of IT systems

If you have previous experience working as aReadymix Shipper, orworking in a scheduling or distribution environment, this would bepreferable as is having a background in operating distribution and/or scheduling systems.
