Our client is looking to appoint a Housing Officer, initially on a temporary basis for approximately 2-3 months with the potential for longer term employment thereafter. This is a full time role and slightly less than full time hours will also be considered. The role can be based in either Inverness or Invergordon with hybrid working offered and a requirement for regular travel to sites across the area.

• As part of a small team the successful candidate will assist in the delivery of high quality housing management services and duties include:
• Delivering tenancy and estate management services.
• Rent arrears management.
• Dealing with applications and allocations.
• Registering applications on the Housing Register.
• Shortlisting applications and recommending allocations for authorisation.
• Drawing up tenancy agreements and signing up tenants for a property.
• Providing an advice and information service.
• Investigating and responding to complaints.
• Carrying out regular communal area inspections.
• Liaise with various external agencies.
• Working with tenants in relation to fuel poverty and making relevant referrals.
• Consulting with tenants on policy changes.
• Maintain an up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, good practice, policies and procedures
• Carrying out viewings.
• Working with tenants to improve services.
• Updating accurate and confidential records.
• Daily use of MS Office systems.

Person specification

• Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
• Experience of the housing/property sector preferred.
• Applicants should be enthusiastic, confident, flexible and highly motivated.
• The post is subject to satisfactory Disclosure Check.
