As a Network Engineer IV, you will lead in the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems of high complexity. Design and establish corporate standards, develop and implement network enhancements and make recommendations for improvements. Lead implementation of approved network architecture and designs. Leader in staff development efforts.

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Designing, deploying, managing, and ensuring stability of the local/wide area network infrastructure technologies to provide high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability to effectively and efficiently support mission critical business systems.
Represents the Engineering Department working closely with Architects and Engineers in designing, modeling, and implementing new technologies.
Become a trusted partner of our engineering team through the delivery of excellent customer service and knowledge that will allow our business to grow.
Plan, design, and execute certification testing for various firewall platforms and configurations
Develop, run, and maintain automated testing frameworks for consistent firewall performance and security evaluations
Analyze and document results to ensure compliance with security policies and standards
Collaborate with security teams to validate firewall rule sets, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and traffic flow
Stay updated with evolving firewall technologies and implement enhancements in testing processes.
Work with architect on Design and architecture of secure, scalable firewall solutions
Project management – document project requirements including scope, costs, schedule, testing and terms of delivery to ensure project is completed with highest level of quality on time and within budget.
Mentors and trains other Engineering personnel in key elements of networking systems and provide technical presentations to instruct co-workers and other production services support individuals.


WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

Experience:
Data network experience – 6+ years


Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience


Technical skills:Data networking knowledge (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Transport)
Ability to work in a team environment
Extensive knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocols
Extensive knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology
Extensive knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model
Extensive knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations.
Extensive knowledge of basic network devices and basic network appliances
Extensive knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio
In-depth knowledge of firewall platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Check Point). -
Experience with security certification standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, NIST). -
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation in testing. -
Familiarity with network protocols ( BGP, HTTP, Multicast, DNS, etc.) and security protocols (SSL/TLS, IPsec). -
Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and performance tuning.
Knowledge of penetration testing and vulnerability assessment tools.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office


Abilities:Ability to read, write and speak the English language
Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly
Ability to use the following office equipment telephone, copier, fax, and calculator
Ability to use personal computer and software applications
Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Schedule:
Full time
This position is eligible for our Hybrid Work Policy. Eligible employees can work from home up to one day each week.



Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of company products and service

Preferred Education

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Juniper Network Certified Specialist (JNCIS or JNCIP)
Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.

Working Conditions

May work in Network Lab environment
24X7 Network Operations environment. Depending on business group, on-call work may be an essential function of the job.
Occasional travel as require

The base pay for this position generally is between $88,200.00 and $156,600.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
