JOB TITLE: Integration Test Engineer
INDUSTRY: WMS / Warehouse Automation
SALARY: £45,000 - £48,000 Company Vehicle / Car Allowance + Overtime
LOCATION: Hybrid - Northern Home Counties / Midlands
JOB SUMMARY
* As an Integration Test Engineer, you’ll sit as part of the Systems department and play a key role in new projects implementing automated materials handling solutions and upgrades for existing customers.
* You’ll be responsible for testing and integration of the mechanical and functional aspects of the automated materials handling solution and systems. This includes creating and managing the test strategy, test plan, and test documentation.
* Typical tests you’ll be cover include: Materials handling cycle tests, Stress testing of warehouse control systems, Functionality and User Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing.
* In addition, you’ll coordinate multi-disciplined teams on site, including electrical and mechanical installation Engineers, Controls Engineers, Software/IT Developers and operations staff.
* You will check and ensure that these teams have delivered the solution in line with the contractual agreements.
* This is a client facing role that will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of the solution and manage the client’s expectations.
* The Integration test Engineer is responsible at all times to work in accordance with the Risk Assessment, Safe System of Work or Work Place risk Assessment as provided by the company
Key Responsibilities
* Develop integrated test scripts
* Commission and test software systems on client sites as part of an integrated test team
* Provide support to the client/commissioning team during early life
* Setup test data appropriate to the level of testing
* Identify areas of risk
* Involvement in system design reviews to provide a test and operational perspective
* Build and develop in house capabilities for integrated testing to complement those provided by Integration team, but that can stand alone
* Assisting with the development of the project quality plan and responsibility for ensuring quality through the project process.
* Use experience gained on previous projects and in previous companies to challenge the software design and system operation
* Use the JIRA system to report faults in core package software.
* Assist in the development of simulation and other testing tools
* Provide Beta testing as needed
Education and Skills
* 1 years’ experience of working with an automated warehouse system
Desirable but not Essential:
* Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant technical subject
* Mechanical or electrical qualification
* Quality Assurance or testing experience
* 2 years’ experience of automated warehouse systems that work in conjunction of a WMS application
* A broad understanding of PLC control and sensors for industrial automation applications with relation to automated warehouse systems
