Location: Remote / Pride Park, Derby (3 days remote, 2 days in office)

About the Role

As the Commercial Operations Lead, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our commercial operations while managing internal projects and third-party relationships. You'll work autonomously to optimize business processes, drive growth, and ensure operational efficiency across our omnichannel environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the operational function within our growing company and contribute significantly to our business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Operations Oversight:

  • Manage day-to-day commercial operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness
  • Implement strategies to optimise business processes and drive growth
  • Analyse operational data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction

Project Management:

  • Lead and coordinate internal projects related to commercial operations
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Develop project plans and manage resources effectively

Third-Party Relationship Management:

  • Oversee relationships with key external partners, including: 3PL warehouse, Retail Sales Distributor, Contract Manufacturers, Suppliers and others
  • Monitor performance of third-party service providers
  • Ensure compliance with agreed terms and service level agreements

Supply Chain Coordination:

  • Work closely with the Supply Chain Director to streamline processes
  • Raise purchase orders on suppliers and negotiate on best pricing
  • Manage inventory levels and optimise stock across channels
  • Work with account managers and sales teams to ensure robust forecasting processes for high growth demand planning
  • Coordinate with the 3rd Party Contract Manufacturer to ensure efficient production

Sales and Distribution Support:

  • Collaborate with the 3rd Party Retail Sales Arm to support sales strategies
  • Oversee the management of the 3rd Party Retail Sales Arm & Warehouse
  • Support initiatives to improve distribution efficiency and expand market reach

Cross-functional Coordination:

  • Facilitate communication between internal teams, including:

- ManCave Brand Manager & Paid Media

- Financial Analyst

- E-com Platform Sales & Ops Exec

- Supply Chain Director

  • Ensure alignment of team goals with overall business objectives

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Track KPIs for commercial operations and third-party performance
  • Regularly report to the CEO and Board on operational performance and project status
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in a consumer goods or e-commerce environment
  • Proven track record in managing projects and third-party relationships
  • Understanding of supply chain operations and omnichannel retail
  • Experience in overseeing contracts and vendor management
  • Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Results-oriented with a focus on operational excellence
  • Adaptability and ability to wear multiple hats in a growing business
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with Power BI and ERP systems and their operational modules
  • Knowledge of operational best practices in FMCG or e-commerce industries
  • Familiarity with lean management principles
  • Background in skincare, natural supplements, or FMCG industry operations
  • Proficiency in project management software, excel & forecasting tools
  • Certifications in supply chain management or operations (e.g., APICS CSCP, CPSM)
